Stories to give you a little Shiver

In case you haven’t figured it out, I love to read in the fall.  There’s just something about changing leaves and a chill in the air that makes me want to curl up with a book that will give me a little shiver.  I’m a scaredy-cat by nature and so I steer clear of Stephen King and other masters of terror but I love a book that gives you a couple of tingles and so here’s my list of goosebump inducing reads for fall.

1.      Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater:  Appropriate name for this post!  Grace was dragged into the woods when she was ten and bitten by wolves.  Now, at sixteen, her wolf has come back for her, but why does he have the same eyes as the boy who works in the bookstore?

2.      Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver:  Samantha Kingston dies before her life was getting started.  Now she wakes up every morning on the day that she died and she has to relive it over and over again until she gets it right.
Second Nature by Alice Hoffman:  Stephen is discovered in the woods by hunters, unable to speak a single word, living as a wolf.  When the hospital discovers that he is the boy that was presumed dead in a plane crash when he was three, they want to study him.  Robin can’t understand why she rescues him and takes him to her home, but he will teach her more about love than any human-raised man she has ever dated.
